The Panamera E-Hybrid is the next choice when you don’t want to go completely electric. If you are struggling with range anxiety, and that’s why you aren’t going electric, there’s no need to worry.
It’s an interesting vehicle because it can be plugged into an outlet and has a fully functional gas engine. This is unique for a hybrid because most cars don’t have to be plugged in. If you have something like a Lexus hybrid, it uses the braking power to keep the battery charged. The weakness with this type of Lexus setup is that the car can’t be driven fast on all-electric power. It can only go 10 or 20mph top speed in electric power. In such instances, it’s only suitable for pulling out of the driveway or constant stops, starting on the highway. Porsche’s advantage is that it can be driven entirely by electric power.
Porsche has done a good job of positioning itself as a car maker for everyone. A couple of years ago, that wasn’t the case, but I applaud them now.
