The Remote Social Weekend Experience At An Undiscovered Track

Being social is the reason to get into RC racing. No reason to be the best racer, most likely you won’t be. Meeting people and getting to know about undiscovered things is the goal.

Interesting to see racers coming together but not really engaging with each other. In defense, it was a little cold yesterday.

Shout out to the corner crew; the people flipping the cars back over. No one seems to want to do this job. It’s truly the most important job. Races couldn’t run well without this group of people.

Hopefully, more racers and spectators will come out and support the next events. If you are local to Wichita, KS make sure to check out Emery RC’s Facebook race page.

The track is hidden back off the main street, and a little hard to find. If you don’t know that it’s there it’s easy to miss. A small group of volunteers maintains the track.

There are a couple of different classes. Most cars are electric but applause to the one nitro guy that raced Saturday. I have a sweet spot for nitro cars.

The beauty of RC and being social is the ability to get outside. Be surrounded by the things that we tend to ignore like trees and fresh air. Listening to the birds as they fly over. Tracks are magical, they start off as direct but turn into something brilliant with a little bit of guidance.
