Spring time is here, let’s keep busy; start looking for a car to help your mind stay at peace.
Even if you spend only 30 minutes per week working on it, it’s better than nothing. Focus is a way to help stay positive it tends to keep from worry.
Most will only see a toy, to others it’s something to help manage stress. If you like real cars I highly recommend the nitro route.
Nitro is an RC car that runs on special fuel. It has a piston, piston sleeve, and a carburetor that makes it work. They can be a little testy to get going but once it’s dialed in you’ll love it.
This Traxxas Slayer is a perfect example of a Nitro car. The price can be a little steep for some but don’t get discouraged. If you like to fix things look for one on eBay, swap meets, garage sales, or estate sales.
Spring time is perfect because it’s not too hot or cold. Get out and play with any type of remote control. The video below of the Traxxas Slayer is a project from last year. I’ve got some additional fixes to make this year.
Projects are special, the tricky thing is that you don’t know what to expect. Unknown history is the biggest issue. Cars can look great on the outside but tearing them apart it will show their story.
Don’t let projects scare you, especially if they don’t cost you a lot. Since you come across them cheaply you can afford to take your time and figure them out. Something that seems a little rough can turn into the most exciting car in a collection.
There’s always forums and blogs to help figure out any problem that you may be facing. Most people with RC cars are very nice and knowledgeable. Don’t rush, take your time and actually trouble shoot a problem the best you can.
