We purchased the 2015 Willys Wrangler earlier this year. Man, I’ve never owned a Jeep like this, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
She’s a rough ride and loud on the highway. But why did we buy the Willys? My wife wanted a car she thought was fun, and that’s what she picked out. Our other two cars are the Lexus CT200 and Lexus UX250, which are wonderful cars to drive. We purchased the CT200 used and the UX250 new in 2019. They drive differently from the Jeep.
I wouldn’t drive the Jeep for a long period on the highway. That’s me personally, because if that’s the only car you are used to it wouldn’t be a big deal. The Jeep Willys Wrangler is a toy to me, it’s simple and easy to maintain. If you like to work on cars a Jeep is a good choice.
I talk about the cars that I own or have owned because it gives a realistic perspective. I see a lot of YouTube videos with people testing cars they don’t own. If you have a car for a year your perspective is completely different than owning it for two weeks. For example, I know a lot of hardcore Corvette guys that talk about the new Corvettes. I’m not even thinking about owning one of those cars. I’ve owned a 1998 C5 for many years before getting rid of it.
My experience wasn’t great, and it had a couple of recalls that I didn’t enjoy. When I ended up trading it in on the Lexus UX250 it had only 40,000 miles on it. It spent its entire life in the garage and only being driven on the weekends. I couldn’t imagine driving that car any more than that – it wasn’t realistic for day-to-day driving.
