Mornings with my echo show are normal to me and my wife. Just so you know the echo show is the model with the screen. Alexa is the name and voice of the AI that’s on the echo show.
I heard my wife tell Alexa at midnight to set an alarm for 6:00am. Alexa always confirms with a reply to let you know she understands. The alarm went off at the intended time and my wife told her to stop the alarm.
Occasionally we do have a hiccup because we turn on a white noise machine. It confuses Alexa to where it seems like she can’t tell you are talking to her. So it feels like you have to yell at her – LOL.
This is a simple part of how home automation can be valuable to you. It doesn’t have to be some complicated routine. You don’t have to remember to set the clock during a time change, it does it automatically.
After we are awake and moving around I usually go into the bathroom connected to the bedroom. Brush my teeth and then tell the echo show (Alexa) to turn on the bedroom light. We have a lamp that has a smart bulb in it. She turns it on for me and I never have to go anywhere near the light. We’ve had this lamp routine for about two years now, it works perfectly.
If I forget to turn the lamp off when I leave the house it’s okay. I use the Geeni app loaded on my iPhone to turn it off no matter where I’m located.
Next since I work from home on Fridays I’ll ask her (Alexa) to tell me the weather for the day. It’s a matter of seconds before she responds back with the current temperature and then with the high and low of the day. Because I have my work and home address entered usually right after the weather forecast she will tell me the fastest route to work.
