Pay to play has always been a saying that I heard, but I realize that it’s a true statement. For me, it’s truly not about racing but meeting new people. To get exposed to new experiences what is the fee that you are willing to pay?
In most cases, the fee is purchasing remote control cars to race in different classes. It’s not about winning or conquering fears or other racers.
To the outside world, these cars appear like wasteful toys. Wasting money on expensive RCs that don’t serve a purpose. In reality, they can save a life, bring happiness, save a marriage, or train someone in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
The sad part is that most people will never experience the great joy of the remote control hobby. Is there a way to change how people see toys? I hope so, that is one of my purposes in life.
What if kids started their own race teams? A way to get rid of stress and keep them from finding bad habits. Teaching them how to deal with hardship and look for a happy future.
