How can you not respect something as beautiful as a Taycan? The design looks like a Porsche, even though the powerplant is different. Can you argue any differently? Of course, with it being electric, some could say it’s not a real Porsche.
Cars have to change with the times, and there’s no exception. It’s easy to get upset with a manufacturer because they mess around with your favorite sports car. Remember, Chevrolet had to do the same thing with the Corvette. There were tons of conversations about whether anyone would want a rear-engine Corvette. Well, I think all of the doubt is gone. I’m sure some still don’t like it, but it allowed Chevrolet to reach a new potential customer.
Remember, there were skeptics when the Macan and Cayenne showed up. Now, look how accepted those cars are. You see them everywhere on the roads. There’s a rumor that those are the cars that saved Porsche. I believe the rumor for the simple fact is that you’ll see a lot of moms in those cars. It’s hard to put kids in a two-door sports car.
I respect Porsche for trying to make cars for different customers. I just wish they would make something a little more affordable, but maybe that’s the point. People want to own Porsches because they are somewhat exclusive.
