Talking About Toy Cars Without Games Would Be Crazy

Forza 4 Audi R8

A hobby of loving toy cars and games isn’t a bad problem. Growing up I always was told that I spent too much time doing them. Society looks at those two things as a waste of time and you can’t make a living from them. Well, we both know times have changed. You can even go to college now for being good at playing video games.

So what’s one of the games that I like to play? Forza Horizon man, I love the game because the car of your dreams is available in there. You can drive around in the car all day wasting time if you want. Horizon has a good storyline because it’s geared around street car racing. You can go around collecting abandoned cars in barns; which they call “barn finds”. But you can also challenge people to races.

I believe this game has to be connected online, but I’m not 100% sure. I’m assuming there are a mixture of real drivers and AI drivers within the game. If you haven’t tried this game you should. I use the Xbox game pass so I play all different versions of it. I don’t have a favorite because I feel like the details in the games are superb regardless of which version it is.

I’m interested in understanding how the AI works on these games. I spent some time this year (2024) in an AI strategy class from Cornell. I recommend it if you want to get a better general understanding of machine learning, etc. Such as, where it can be used and why, like this game. So if you are a parent telling your kids that games are a waste of time pause for a minute and think about the technology behind it.
