Taycan technology is beautiful. It’s interesting how people complain about everything being black. The issue they reference is fingertip smudges on the screens. Sometimes, I think people forget about things right in front of them. We could get so used to things that we aren’t aware enough to see them.
What do I mean? The thing that YouTube influencers complain about in the Taycan is no different from the iPhone or Android phones they carry around daily. That’s what makes the car simple to adapt to. You don’t need an owner’s manual to learn how to use the technology; you’ve used it your whole life.
I won’t use this post to discuss the normal technology specs. You can find that on the Porsche website or the introduction page of this blog. I will tell you that if you are looking for a car with a modern interface, you’ve found it.
The car lacks over-the-air updating features. Over time, all the articles and comments I’ve read describe that you must take the vehicle to the dealership to update these systems. It’s an odd situation when you think of the price point of this car. I want it to act like my computer, smartphone, or tablet and get updates over the internet.
Every car can be improved; there’s nothing perfect out there. Being human, my mind thinks a Porsche shouldn’t have anything wrong with it, so I struggle with the price, whether it’s new or used. There shouldn’t be a blemish of any kind. The Taycan technology should be as groundbreaking as AI. Speaking of AI, why doesn’t it have that built into its system?
But is the brand strong enough to overcome these limitations? Older Porsches weren’t known for their technology. Even the Porsche 911 had no fancy gizmos; it was just known for power and handling.
