Simple Exciting Sunday Browsing Cars For Fun

2 min read

Simple days are the favorite; no stress to be found. Throwing away all plans and going with the flow. The first thing done was playing with the dog. Sat in the patio drinking an apple juice while watching the dog run around the yard. Didn’t make it for a walk this morning because the thought wasn’t exciting.

Second was spending an hour on eBay picking up where I left off the night before. Interested in collecting Ford GT and McLaren cars the next two months. The slot car collection is a little thin when it comes to those two models. Noticed that the prices are starting to climb on the Ford GT. Not actually sure if anyone is actually buying them though.

Yesterday, was able to pick up two Scalextric and Hornby Hobbies McLaren cars in an eBay auction. One McLaren car wasn’t initially on my list, but was coupled with a Lamborghini that I was after. So pretty much I got two cars for the price of one. The only issue is the McLaren that was picked up is already in my collection.

The strategy that I use is to have cars for playing with and others for collecting. I love to play with the tracks but don’t want to damage cars that are truly amazing. The collections that I go after most are the Scalextric Limited Editions. The cool boxes they come in really appeal to me.

Cars used for playing are still in good shape but I look for these on auctions. Discounted prices are the best way to go on these items. What I tend to look for are the cars that have the missing wings or mirrors. These small types of blemishes don’t affect the performance and still look good going around the track.

What I don’t necessarily like is when a car has the tires changed on them. Even though, I just picked up an Aston Martin that someone changed the compounds for racing. I would like for the cars to be as original as possible. No upgraded tires or engines to make them faster, I really don’t care about that.

I have a love for all things toy car-related whether it's Lamborghini toy cars, Corvette C8 toy cars, or big car toys for adults. My specialty is looking for the best deals in the right places.

Vintage toy cars are something that fascinates me. What makes old toy cars worth money? The desire to have the car that you dreamed about as a kid. Having the income to purchase the car now that you've found, imagining the joy that it will bring.

What toy car brands are hot right now?

Looking for dad hobbies?

Let me help you figure it out.

There are RC cars for beginners and slot car racing for those with smaller budgets.

If you are on eBay so am I - happy hunting.

I also love to do home automation in my spare time for fun. I love to consult on all things computers but mostly for family. Technology has always been a passion of mine so I've always studied information systems. I have over 20 years of experience in this function and love it because it's challenging but also rewarding.
