Corvette C8 toy slot cars are so hot right now. The realistic look makes them desirable for collectors. If you watch any type of car racing the cars have the same livery.
I’ve always liked Corvettes and have even owned a real one. Now all of my sports cars are toy cars for practicality. What helps these cars sell quickly is Chevrolet moving the engine to the back for the first time on the production vehicle. It’s pretty exciting for anyone who has followed this car its entire journey.
The good thing right now is that you can still purchase these from any hobby store or Amazon. It’s keeping the pricing in check not allowing it to explode out of control. It will be interesting to see if this continues going forward.
What’s so neat about these cars is the amount of detail the manufacturers, Scalextric and Carrera Toys put into their details. The one pictured in this post is from Carrera Toys. Every time I look at it, it makes me respect how much time they put into making the car to an actual specification like the real thing.
This analog Corvette C8 toy can be changed to work on a digital track. I usually go analog to save on cost. I don’t play with every car that I own so it’s not worth adding a chip for an extra $30 or $40. When you get digital capable cars it’s very easy to spend $70 for one car.
Another thing you miss out on by going digital is that it won’t have any lights. The light on Carrera toy cars is awesome. They have the brake light functionality like a real car when you let off the speed.
