Hot is an understatement the last couple of days. Definitely have to stay inside most of the day until the sun goes down. The best thing about the last couple of days is there has been plenty of racing on television.
Had the chance to watch the GT World Challenge America being covered from New Orleans. From the comfort of my own home, it couldn’t get any better. These types of races are my favorite because you can see the normal types of cars; Mercedes, Mclaren, Porsche, etc.
Slot cars are based on a lot of these racing cars with real-looking branding and licensing. I’m making an assumption that’s why toy cars are so expensive. It’s really cool to be able to see a car win a race and then the following year have that car available for purchase.
I’ve noticed the pricing on used slot cars is outrageous. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks on eBay looking for deals. At the moment there really aren’t any out there. For the prices being asked it’s better at the moment to purchase new cars.
Waiting for it to cool off so I can set up my track outside. I didn’t get a chance on Memorial Day like I wanted to; it started to rain. With it being so hot outside I’m concerned with leaving it out there overnight.
If the heat doesn’t go down I’ll probably set up a small 1:43 carrera track outside so it’s easy to take it apart. It won’t be as fun as the larger 1/32 or 1/24 but the experience of being outside will still be great.
